BENGALURU, India — Svashasan Labs today introduced Sim 4.0, a generational leap in autonomous vehicle simulation that utilizes Neural Radiance Fields (NeRFs) and real-world sensor data to create photorealistic virtual testing environments.

To achieve the safety levels required for unsupervised driving, autonomous systems must be exposed to "edge cases"—rare and dangerous scenarios that are difficult or unethical to replicate in the real world. Sim 4.0 allows Svashasan’s AI models to encounter these situations millions of times per day in a perfectly controlled, high-fidelity digital twin of the physical world.

Closing the Sim-to-Real Gap

Traditional simulation often suffers from the "sim-to-real gap," where neural networks behave differently in virtual environments than they do on actual roads due to subtle differences in lighting, texture, and sensor noise. Sim 4.0 solves this by using generative AI to "re-render" real-world driving footage into interactive 3D scenes.

"Sim 4.0 isn't just about better graphics; it's about physical accuracy. We are modeling everything from the way rain droplets distort camera lenses to the specific infrared signatures of different types of asphalt." — Vikram Mehra, Lead Simulation Engineer

Massively Parallel Validation

Leveraging the newly activated Param-1 supercomputing cluster, Svashasan can now run 50,000 simultaneous simulations. This allows our engineering team to validate every software update against a massive library of "stress tests" before a single line of code is pushed to the customer fleet.

Code and Simulation

Sim 4.0 integrates directly into the developer workflow, providing real-time feedback on model disengagements.

Testing the Impossible

Whether it's a child running into the street from between parked cars or a semi-truck losing its load on a high-speed highway, Sim 4.0 can generate infinite variations of critical events. By training on these "impossible" scenarios, our vehicles develop a level of defensive driving intuition that exceeds human capability.

The rollout of Sim 4.0 marks a pivotal moment for Svashasan Labs as we continue to define the gold standard for autonomous safety through rigorous, science-based validation.
